Karen Gloyd moved to Las Vegas in 1977, a freshman in high school. After graduating and marrying her first husband in 1982, Donald Loving Jr., she worked in the computer industry. After divorcing Loving in 1985, she married Larry Gloyd Jr. in 1987. She began working for Westwood Studios in 1995 which began her career in film and video.
