Chris Pirillo was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joe and Judy Pirillo. Chris graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was a middle school teacher in Texas for a short time. From 2001 to 2003, he hosted the TV series Call for Help (1998). Pirillo hosted the annual Gnomedex technology conference from 2001 to 2010.
