Bo Blaylock was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. An American, he spent five years living abroad in the former British colony of Hong Kong. A Chinese major back in the States, already highly fluent in Mandarin before heading overseas, he picked up Cantonese and a Master's Degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
